In this study, we demonstrated that mechanically sensitive muscle afferents cause augmented reflex elevations in BP during dynamic plantar flexion exercise in peripheral artery disease patients. These responses occurred prior to claudication pain, were related to disease severity, and were partly reduced by acute antioxidant infusion.
